 In order to get a National Insurance number you need to fill out an application online. You’ll be required to verify your identity at the time you fill out the application.  

What documents will you need?

 If you own one of these documents make the documents ready prior to starting:  

  •   a passport issued by any nation  
  •   a biometric permit to reside (      BRP      )  
  •   an identity card of nationality from an EU country, or from Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland  

 You may have to input data on one or several of these papers.
